James Malinchak's The Question That Will Have You Focused On The Return On Investment ROI
I have made a series of 7 extremely important questions that I am interviewing myself on to give you the answers for them. I'm interviewing myself because I'm doing something beyond the normal, which creates Top of Mind Awareness (TOMA). Additionally, it is my belief that you will comprehend the questions as well as answers on a much deeper level. The deeper comprehension comes from the dialogue going back and forth in an interview format. For the purpose of this article, I am only asking and answering question one of the series.
Question 1 Let's get right to the point. Whenever you come to my office for a consultation, I've got a sign behind my desk, in my office so that you can see it as soon as you walk in. All of my clients notice it; when they don't see it by themselves, I point it out to them. What does the sign say and how come I have that sign behind my desk? Why do I really want you to see it each time you walk into my office?
I have never seen other people who has anything such as this sign. I have been invited right into a large amount of folks offices and been invited into their home offices. Most of us have little cute sayings posted here or there on the walls or even the desk. However, that didn't jive with me for my office. I needed something more in my clients as they are entering my office inside my house using the hopes to change their business as well as their lives. What I realized is I am helping these folks with their business, to develop their business, and so i felt the duty to complete a lot more than motivate them with nice cute sayings. I desired something powerful with many different punch to get and their attention.
Yes, I noticed they needed something because there was this syndrome causing "the deficiency of attention." Things I learned by conducting a lot of countless consultations over several years is the fact that everybody tends to get off track. It had been as though they could not keep a clear head. It had been as if I were the only one playing 8 ball, and everybody else targeted at another ball. I needed something short, simple, and impactful to get these to let me guide them and teach them to get to the 8 ball, too. Nobody could stay focused around the 8 ball until I came up with this statement.
When you're playing pool, you should be strategizing which balls you hit. You believe ahead to find out in which the cue ball bounces back so that you setup the knocking in of the 8 ball. I'd a professional pool player teach me that one time. I thought, well, it is the same task for your business. You should be staying focused on everything you use your skills on the 8 ball, the figurative business 8 ball. I noticed that lots of consulting clients never mastered the focus of the business 8 ball. They always scattered their efforts on each one of these great ideas. You know the disease that produces a concept after a concept after an idea.
In reaction to their lack of attention, a responded with a little phrase called "STI - Stop the Ideas," because everyone has them. Honestly, I get exactly the same way sometimes, but the phrase on my desk makes me think a little different than a lot of people. Once I get all of these ideas, I come right back to the 8 ball never losing focus. Therefore, to respond to the question that will certainly help you, the listener, the sign that you'll see when you visit my house into my office as a coaching client is the most important question of your business, "What's the fastest way to the cash?" That saying is just a fun method of saying you have to stay focused on the 8 ball. You have to stay focused on the ROI, the Return on Investment, which is your business 8 ball.
