But there is a thought that Microsoft is not the best performance of VPN implementation (ignoring that fact that it's built on closed protocols), but taking into consideration that fact that this solution is built in all Windows systems that's very widespread. In local corporative network built on Windows systems, so server is set up under Windows control. But many system administrators do not enjoy to use Windows servers which are connected to global network and to corporative network. Very often such way create holes in connection that is not good for network protection. UNIX-servers are more safe and have more tasks, so they are the most secured way to use VPN. And there is interesting thing - a lot of system administrators like better to hide Windows VPN servers under UNIX-servers. There is special vpn client through which there is prospect to create VPN connection with user or with company. Also, when VPN connection is going to be set up user should know vpn configuration to create connection properly. VPN performance through Microsoft makes possible to use Internet connection and connection to corporate network. Developers of UNIX-system found a way out to create VPN-server based on UNIX but matching with Microsoft clients. So, the connection is very safe, has many functions and is very handy and easy to use. And it is very popular when such connection is useful for users and companies all over the world.
