What Is The Future Of Search Engine Optimisation
What is the future of search engine optimisation Though those who are into Internet marketing would like to know what the future holds for them, but frankly, it is very difficult to predict this accurately. Forget about the future of SEO, actually it is very difficult to even predict the future of Internet and computers in general. For instance, if 40 years back anyone had predicted that a computer would be sitting on a table of almost every home in the country, then everyone would have thought that he or she was crazy. And now there's the assumption that the computers of tomorrow will have artificial intelligence and will eventually become smarter than humans.
Much of the search engines are operated by computers. For instance, the algorithm, which is used to determine which websites should appear on page 1 are decided by humans, but it is operated by machines. Google and the other search engines have a spider, which is a computer program that freely runs on the Internet to crawl through various websites and rank them.
So What Is The Future Of Search Engine Optimisation
Some people are of the opinion that SEO does not have any future. They point out the fact that over the last decade or so, optimizing a website for the search engines had become much more difficult. Once, all that was needed to be done is just writing some content with the keywords in it, and changing the Meta tags, and you could easily get on page 1. But this is impossible today as a lot more must be done now to search engine optimize a website.
The search engines are getting smarter and they are changing their algorithms. They do not want a website to find out how the rankings happen and would go to any extent to prevent the algorithm leaking. So it seems that traditional search engine optimisation might become more difficult in the days to come.
But this does not mean that SEO will be dead in the future. It will just change. It has to become smarter.
What The Future Holds
Instead of showing generic results, in the future, the results will be more customized according to the needs to the viewer. For example, the person will have a choice of viewing more shopping websites or more content websites or websites with more images. This will ensure that the search results will become more relevant to individual needs. What does this mean for SEO
If you are trying to search engine optimise a website, one single strategy might not work anymore. To have a presence in all three markets, you might have to create different angles to ensure that the website comes up for all kinds of search preferences. Of course it is very difficult to have a page that has a lot of content and also a lot of images - so it might be better to optimize different pages altogether for different customer choices.
The search engines might also go local in the future. For example if you want to visit Paris and if you are searching for Paris hotels from New York, then the results might display the hotels or travel companies in Paris and New York. In other words, a travel company based in Los Angeles might not be displayed. Similarly, if you were searching from LA, then for the same keyword, the travel agencies displayed will not include those in NY. So for the same keyword, even the organic results might be displayed differently based on the location from where the person typed in the keyword.
Search engine optimisation in the future might have to thus go local too. To show results, the client's website must come up in various local markets.
