Running is a simple and fun exercise that you can do no matter where you live, whether on a sidewalk, road or a track. What we're going to do is talk about a few things you really should bear in mind so your jogging adventures will be more enjoyable.
Never skip your stretching either before or after you jog. You don't want to hurt yourself, so be sure you learn how to stretch and then do it. There is obvious impact when you run, or jog, and the stretching warms up your muscles, makes them more flexible and able to safely absorb the impact. It's also important to remind yourself to relax your mind and muscles while you are stretching. The entire point for stretching to to avoid injury, so don't cause them by stretching "to impress" and proceed slowly. Never push to the point of pain when you stretch, and if you do feel pain immediately and "slowly" back off.
Always relax during your stretches, once again, and just take it easy - no world records need to be set.
One of the best ways to start off with running or jogging is to begin by power walking. You may want to talk to your doctor first, but if you're cleared to exercise, then walking is a terrific method to get your body used to the idea of exercise and using your legs a lot. The important thing is to listen to your body, and then just make gains according to how you feel. Then, when you feel you're ready, you can break into a slow jog and proceed at your own pace. When you proceed slowly and with caution, then you're reducing the chances of possible injury. Also, a lot of people like to power walk because it's good exercise, and it's evern prefered by those who cannot run without pain due to an injury, etc. Power walking should be done by everyone new to the sport because it really is a very safe way to get your body used to running.
It's really important to properly hydrate prior to every single run, or jog. Also, we have to say that you should never run on a full stomach. Ok? The best thing to drink is water, and avoid fruity crap or anything with sugar in it. Before you begin your jog, you should drink some water but never to the point where you feel bloated in your stomach. If you're properly hydrated and in good health, and you're not running a marathon there's really no need to carry the Gucci water bottle with you unless you're stylish. Only drink good clean water after you're done punishing yourself and avoid anything colored. No matter how cool or cold it is when you run, it's very important to drink fluids and that means water, and be sure you do it after you jog.
It really doesn't matter when you start doing it, just be sure it's safe for you to do, though. It's very normal to get to the point where you're looking forward to running. By sticking to the above guidelines, you'll be able to enjoy the benefits of running for many years.
