Read This Piece To Learn Everything About Coffee
Buying coffee through a drive thru everyday on the way to work can get expensive. If you find that what you are spending on your coffee fix everyday is almost equal to one of your utility bills there is a solution. Invest in a coffee maker and brew your coffee at home in the mornings. This will save you money and you will get a perfect cup of coffee each time.
For a quick and affordable brew of espresso, try using a Moka stovetop coffee pot. Mokas generally produce one or two cups of coffee in the amount of time it takes to boil that amount of water. The coffee is brewed by pressurized steam rising through a funnel of coffee grinds and then rising again into the top chamber where it is ready to be poured into a cup.
Why settle for a boring cup of coffee when there are so many different options available? Coffee flavors in french vanilla, hazelnut and amaretto tickle your taste buds. If you do not care for flavored coffee beans, you can always opt from a wide assortment of fun flavored creamers to liven up your cup of coffee.
Most coffee drinkers prefer a mild cup of coffee over any other strength. Roast your beans for around 7 minutes, or until they double in size and pop. This will make you a wonderfully mild and smooth cup of coffee. This is perfect for iced coffees and other coffee drinks.
It's important to be on the lookout for the caffeine levels in your coffee. Not all coffee has equal amounts of caffeine. For instance, Robusta beans contain two times the coffee that Arabica does. Depending on the type of beans used and the amounts that were used, drip coffee can actually contain more caffeine than espresso. Make sure you keep yourself informed.
A clean coffee maker is a great coffee maker. If your coffee maker is not cleaned on a weekly basis, your coffee will suffer. Use a solution of one part vinegar to two parts water to run through the coffee makers system to flush out any dirt and contaminants that could influence the taste of your coffee.
When you are done with your coffee grinds, do not throw them away. What many people do not know is that used coffee grinds have many uses. They can be used for gardening, getting hardened food off your dishes and removing foul smells. Simply put them in a ziploc bag and put it in a cabinet.
Never store your coffee beans in the refrigerator. Coffee beans tend to soak up odors from other foods in the refrigerator, ruining the taste of your brew. Instead, if you aren't planning to use them within a week or two, store the beans in an air-tight container in the freezer to preserve freshness.
Never get caught up in a coffeeshop debate about whether or not baristas are tipped enough or should get tipped at all. Both sides are passionate about their arguments, and when everyone has a cup of coffee in their hands, a tense conversation can get anxious pretty quickly and out of hand.
If you have cats that like to make a mess of your garden, sprinkle it with used coffee grounds. The smell is a natural repellant for cats. This will stop your cat from thinking that the flower bed you love so much would be better if used as a litter box.
Drink adequate amounts of water when you drink coffee. Coffee is a diuretic, which means you lose body stores of water when you drink coffee. That happens for everyone and usually isn't a problem, if you replenish your body with water. Make sure you get your eight to ten glasses of it a day.
Furthermore, coffee is such a great beverage that many people hold it in high regards. Just one warm cup is all you need to get your day started in high gear. Remember everything you've learned from this article, as it will help you make the best cup of coffee you've ever had.
